K.I.S.S. one of the best things to learn.

Growing up one of my teachers in high school would always invite us to K.I.S.S. (something that would get him in trouble in today's world!) It was a great lesson for all of us, then and now. K.I.S.S. stands for Keep It Simple Stupid. There are a lot of advantages of doing this. A few of them are: It is less stressful (less things to worry about); cheaper; and allows you more freedom! Here are a few simple methods to applying K.I.S.S. in your life.

Methods to simplifying your life:
1. Stop expanding: Don't add any new possessions to your life you don't NEED! Not want-need. Will I die without this? Will my family? Does this help me fulfill my mission here on earth? (You do know your mission right?) Can I get by without it? Do I need it today? It is amazing how many things we would not buy if we waited an hour, a day or a week. So if you think you need this and it is not something you need to live; try waiting a week and then see if you still need it.

2. Control your time: Focus on the things that are of value to you. Do you know where your time goes? Marjorie Blanchard reminds us, "If you are not working on your ideal day, you're working on someone else's". Whose day do you want to work on? Have you ever looked at the clock and wondered where your day went? Ever feel like you are falling behind or at best treading water? Get rid of your time wasters. Not sure what your time wasters are? Keep track of your time for a week and see where it goes. You maybe surprised. If the purpose of the action does not fit your mission...why are you wasting precious time on it?

3. Increase your financial education. Where does your money go? Do you know? Do you know where you are financially? Do you know where you want to go? Does your money work for you or do you work for your money? Do you have or are you working towards financial freedom or are you working for someone else's? Wherever you see the chance to eliminate an expensive habit, take it. Do you know the difference between an asset (something that puts money in your pocket) and a doodad (something that takes money out of your pocket also called a liability). If you are in debt get out and stay out. Find ways to increase your passive income or ways of making your money work for you. I was surprised with how many ways I have found.

4. Reduce clutter – downsize what you already own. Downsizing - the most vital step in winning the freedom to change your life.

5. Find the things you love and do more of them. Find the people who love and spend more time with them. What do you love to do? How much time do you spend doing it? How often do you give up quality time with those you love to do something that someone else talked you into? Learn to say "NO!" Simple living saves you money and buys you time it allows you to focus on what is important to you. Allows you the independence to follow your passions and curiosities down exciting new roads.

6. Rediscover the wonder of life. Look at your life again with the wonder of a child. Delight in the moments and laugh out loud!

We need money to survive. Time you need to live. Save what little money you possess to meet basic survival requirements, but spend your time lavishly on the things that make this life worthy of the journey.
